Thursday Evening -Rehab and New Beginnings

Alexandria is now officially in Rehab at Pitt "Regional Rehabilitation Center." www.uheast.com/rehab . She was delivered safely here by one of our favorite ICU nurses, Ashley.    Her Rehab Doctor in charge
is Dr. Crowl. Her nurse tonight is Rexanne and her day nurse through the weekend is Lauren. They are all very sweet.

They have a 2-3 visit protocol and prefer visitors after 330 pm. The reason is that from here forward, Alex has an aggressive schedule that starts tomorrow morning at 0730. She will be engaging in occupational, speech and other treatments through the day with one day a week of rest. I think she is already more comfortable as she has been far less fidgety and is actually focusing in on watching "Bridesmaids."

For the next few days, her dad and I will work with therapist to understand techniques we can use during down time to continue her progress. They said those who have a good support system always do far better. This explains why Alex has done so well already, she is tenacious, and has the fuel of all your thoughts, prayers and cards, each of which is hung or will be hung in her new space to keep her motivated.

Send thoughts of strength for her big day tomorrow.  Love shout out to all her buds, from Alex!
